MILITARY AFFAIRS (DMA) The mission of the Florida Department of
Military Affairs is to provide management oversight of the Florida

Minimum Qualifications. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: + A high school
diploma or equivalent; AND + One (1) year of bookkeeping,
accounting, and auditing experience or related field; OR + Two (2)
years of administrative experience or related field. DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: + Know, understand, and comply with all current
laws, administrative codes, regulations, policies, procedures, and
guidance associated with the Educational Dollars for Duty (EDD)
program. + Serve as a DMA EDD point of contact for DMA service
members and activities, supported educational organizations, and
other responsible agencies and activities for reviewing,
evaluating, reconciling, and informing on EDD financial
information. + Monitor, maintain and utilize required automation
systems [i.e., Virtual Education Center (VEC), Integrated Emergency
Operation Management System (IEOMS), Florida Accounting Information
Resource (FLAIR), Share drive Files, SIB-X, AX etc.] to ensure
accurate and efficient program management. + Review EDD financial
figures, postings, documents and reports for accurate entry,
mathematical calculation, documentation, and assignment. + Review,
process, and complete service member reimbursement
responsibilities. Ensure timely processing and payment receipt for
all approved service member reimbursements. + Review, maintain and
complete service member and educational organization debt
recoupment responsibilities. Ensure timely processing and financial
accountability for all established debt recoupment actions. +
Prepare correspondence to Department of Financial Services (DFS),
when appropriate, for implementation of all collection action. +
Receive, record, and process all financial instruments (checks,
money orders and vouchers) associated with the EDD program. +
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to
compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or
computers. Prepare and process all required financial documentation
and reports. + Accurately debit, credit, and total accounts on
computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting
software. Develop and maintain other systems and tools necessary to
ensure accurate and efficient program management. + Monitor and
process the timely receipt and recording of student grades
submitted by service members and educational organizations. +
Maintain accurate contact information for all approved educational
organizations. + Operate calculators, computers, copy/print/fax and
other equipment necessary prepare and produce information
associated with all work responsibilities. + Compile statistical,
financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to
such matters as expenditures, and receivable. + Code documentation
and information according to designated DMA and office procedures.
Record, track, and maintain records and information according to

destroy records according to designated DMA and office procedures.
+ Reconcile, document, and/or report all identified discrepancies.
+ Provide requested financial information and resources for the
continued monitoring of program funding and utilization, as well as
analysis of future year budget requirements. + Process mail and
other correspondence and information as required. + Maintain and
support office operations and activities as required. KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: + Knowledge of the methods of data
collection. + Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
+ Ability to design and implement accounting systems. + Ability to
prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records. + Ability to
analyze and interpret accounting data. + Ability to understand and
apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
relating to an accounting program. + Ability to plan, organize and
coordinate work assignments. + Ability to communicate effectively.
