Senior Director will lead and oversee the Patient Financial
Services function for the organization, which includes direct
oversight of the business offices for all service lines of the
company. Service lines include Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation
Hospitals, Home Health, Outpatient Therapy Clinics, Assisted Living
Facilities, Memory Care Housing, and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
This position is instrumental in maintaining and facilitating the
continual enhancement of effective and efficient operations of the
billing and collections functions throughout the organization. The
position will provide leadership, organizational and strategic
direction to drive efficient, accurate and compliant billing
activities to maximize reimbursement and contracts; and develop and
implement strategies, processes and technology to continuously
improve and manage the billing cycle, increase productivity,
decrease denials and increase cash collections. This position will
report directly to the CFO and additionally work with leadership
across all divisions.Responsibilities:
- Direct, manage and implement programs to ensure efficient
operations of the organization's patient financial services
programs in order to generate sufficient cash flow to support the
organization's strategic initiatives
- Identify, analyze, reduce and resolve all patient financial
service issues associated with: billing and insurance collections,
A/R resolution, guarantor collections, charge description master,
charge capture, revenue enhancement, cash applications, financial
reporting, revenue cycle audits, training and development,
information technology performance improvement, and patient service
center
- Leads and develops the Patient Financial Services departmental
processes and ensures staff performance and development
- Coordinate with the Controller to calculate accounts receivable
reserves and the evaluation of patient accounts receivables in an
accurate manner
- Coordinate with the managed care department and assist, as
necessary, to achieve the best contracts for the System in addition
to assisting in negotiating with managed care companies over
billing disputes and IT system issues
- Maximize the various system applications to increase efficiency
and productivity
- Develop key performance indicators and report to leadership on
a regular basis
- Develop operating and capital budgets
- Ensure annual cash collection targets are achieved
- Ensure timely and quality responses to all external medical
record auditsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, health or
public administration, management or a related field; advanced
degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years progressive leadership experience required in
the healthcare receivables field specifically in Inpatient
rehabilitation revenue cycle, home health revenue cycle, skilled
nursing facilities revenue cycle -and outpatient therapy clinics
revenue cycle.
- Comprehensive experience with payers and providers, with an
ability to understand the commensurate requirements for
facilitating accounts receivable resolution, cash flow, billing,
revenue enhancement, patient service issues, and managed care
contracting
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Ability to work independently, with a high degree of
reliability and accuracy
- Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills as
well as proven organizational skills

Compensation: - Experience, education and tenure may be considered
along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The Manger
of Patient Financial Services is responsible for managing and
controlling all phases of the outpatient business office accounts
receivable operation in order to ensure the institution realizes a
maximum cash flow and money position; accurate and timely billings
and collections from patients and third party payers. Supervises
Outpatient Business Office Team consisting of: Support Staff,
Collectors, Team Leads, Payment Posters, Adjusters, Billers, etc
The Customer Service Specialist develops and implements initiatives
to improve the patient experiences to achieve superior patient
satisfaction outcomes. Analyzes, identifies and trends data in
aggregate for performance improvement within the patient
experience. Investigates, resolves, documents and reports patient,
family and visitor concerns and compliments to hospital leadership
and staff. Acts as a liaison for patients and families in effective
problem solving of patient/family concerns and complaints. Educates
and orients patients and families with regard to excellence in
patient experience and expectations of inpatient rehab experience.
Communicates patients' complaints, problems and concerns to
appropriate program team members. The Patient Service Tech is an
opportunity to work alongside therapists performing treatments as
well as working in the front of the clinic to help perform
necessary day to day clerical operations. You are able to support
the delivery of rehabilitation care by working directly with
patients under the direction of therapist; as well as; performing
regular cleaning and equipment monitoring to support a safe
environment of care. The Sr. Administrator, Patient Care Services
(CNO), Inpatient Rehab is responsible for the practice of Nursing
at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospitals by ensuring consistency in the
standard of practice across the clinical IRF settings. Brooks
Rehabilitation Hospital is a 170-bed hospital serving both adult
and pediatric populations. Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital - Bartram
(BRH-B) is a 60 bed hospital serving adults, and Brooks Halifax
Center for Inpatient Rehabilitation (CIR) is a 40 bed Inpatient
Rehab unit within the Halifax Hospital.
