SUMMARY: Responsible for performing highly specialized,
professional level, accounting duties according to Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Were looking for an
organized and driven staff accountant with strong analytical skills
to join our team. The accountant position will work closely with
our operations personnel and other accountants and handle day to
day tasks including month end close.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and conducts comprehensive studies
to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of a
department or business unit/segment. Performs statistical, cost and
financial analysis of financial reports and data, and prepares
summaries for management. Recommends cost improvement measures.
Interprets data to determine past financial performance and/or to
create budgets and forecasts. Reviews costs and performs
cost/benefit analysis related to projects and/or programs. Develops
financial reports to determine forecasts, trends and results. May
assists in the development, enhancement and implementation of
policies and procedures. Responsible for month-end closing
activities. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or a related
field required. Advanced business degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a progressively
responsible accounting role.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
products, including Word, Outlook and Excel in addition to advanced
proficiency with accounting systems, such as Oracle.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in
writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple
work assignments simultaneously. Ability to perform accurately in a
detail oriented environment. Ability to compile, review, and
reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles such as payables,
receivables and accruals. Knowledge of electronic data processing
as it applies to finance and accounting. Knowledge of purchasing,
procurement, budgeting and administrative management.
OTHER: Bilingual in Spanish and CPA preferred.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts a single business unit/segment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure
to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of
a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability
to sit for long periods of time.
