Part time positions start at a minimum of 30 hours per week.We encourage you to become a part of VyStar Credit Union's family of employees.Principal Security AdministratorACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT The Senior Security Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining VyStar's Information Security systems on a day to day basis. The Senior Security Administrator constantly ensures the VyStar security infrastructure adheres to industry best practices to protect the enterprise using a multi-layered security philosophy. Provide technical management of security technologies across the VyStar enterprise. This requires business partnering and communications, planning, metrics, reporting and hands-on execution. The position is a technical role responsible for the management of VyStar's security systems and provides a point for support escalation for other IT teams. Work closely with the Information Security Team to promote a strong sense of teamwork and an enterprise-wide proactive risk mitigation approach.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Acts as an Information Security subject matter resource in support of the security systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership to the Security Administration team.
  • Support various Information Technology teams to ensure security software and systems are configured as needed to support the credit union.
  • Collaborate with Information Security Management and Security Engineers on improvements to security infrastructure, standards and solutions to protect VyStar's enterprise assets.
  • Assist the Security Engineers in the management of key layers of information security as well as supporting, updating and monitoring the security infrastructure.
  • Follow formal guidance and documentation for administering enterprise security systems provided by the Security Engineers and Analysts including:
    • Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, email security systems, NAC, sandboxing technologies, and content filtering,
    • Systems security such as anti-virus, multi-factor authentication, host-based IPS/IDS, host-based firewalls, encryption technologies, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and system hardening standards.
    • Implement configuration changes, software patches and signature updates related to information security systems throughout the enterprise.
    • Responsible for vulnerability remediation plans:
      • Create Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs),
      • Coordinate with responsible IT teams and business units,
      • Engage 3rd party vendor resources as necessary.
      • Research and advocate new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise.
      • Monitor and report on key metrics for enterprise security reliability, change issues, and enterprise security posture.
      • Maintains accurate documentation of Information Security systems and devices, continually accounting for rule changes, policy updates, patches, etc.
      • Act as part of the Incident Response team.
      • Assist Information Security Team on implementing the SANS 20 Critical Controls.
      • Ability to function effectively within a team as well as a willingness to guide and mentor others is essential.
      • Provide back-up and support to the Information Security Team.
      • Follow strict change control processes.

Education requirements may be substituted as follows: Two (2) years of work related experience for each one (1) year of post high school education.A professional certification in Information Security such as CISSP, CCNA or GIAC is required. Obtain necessary continuing professional education hours to retain professional certification(s) and continuously build individual knowledge.ExperienceRequired

              • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
              • Solid understanding of network protocols, ports, and services.
              • Understanding of security concepts related to firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
              • High level of ethical integrity, with the ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information appropriately.Technical Skills
                • Experience in a mid-size to large infrastructure consisting of a significant number of servers and users. -
                • Strong Systems and Network Administration and troubleshooting skills.
                • Specific hands on experience with firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security, content filtering, email filtering, anti-virus solutions, configuration management, encryption standards.
                • Advanced understanding of various Windows Operating systems.
                • Ability to utilize best practices for server and network equipment for best suited hardening standards.
                • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate concerns, issues and research to other teams.
                • Experience with packet capture technologies.
                • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
