Our client, an IT company, is seeking a Sr. Support EngineerLocation: Hartford, CTPosition Type: Full TimeJob Summary:The Senior Support Engineer will work on challenging technical issues as well as serve as an escalation point for first and second tier support engineers. The successful candidate will be highly technical and a natural troubleshooter and leader with great customer service instincts, focusing on finding the right solution with each client. This position requires occasional travel to client sites.Qualifications Include:5+ years of recent, relevant hands-on experience in a similar positionPreferred Certifications: A+; Network+, MCSE, Office 365Preferred Work Experience: Managed Service Provider or Consulting environmentPreferred Systems Experience: ConnectWise, IT GlueAbility to work collaboratively with all levelsExcellent attention to detailCreate and maintain policies and proceduresAbility to effectively communicate both written & verballyDesire to grow personally and professionallyDesire to work in a fun, fast-paced and growing organizationParticipate in a scheduled on-call rotation and after-hours duties as needed.Travel to and from clients works sites with personal vehicleRequire a valid driver's licenseWho you are:You are a detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of your job responsibilities, meets deadlines, and can communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and vendors. You enjoy organization metrics, analytics, team camaraderie and multitasking, all while working in a fun environment.A successful Senior Support Engineer will be able to:Provide direct end user support for client issues by troubleshooting and applying knowledge via helpdesk calls, service board tickets and email requests.Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot:Virtual Machines and ServersActive Directory, Domain Name Server (DNS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN)Sonicwall firewalls, Layer 3 routing, VLAN segmentationMicrosoft SharePoint and SQL ServerMac OS X desktops/laptopsDell and HP servers/desktops/laptopsInstall and test network servers, operating system software, routers, switches, Office 365Plan, implement, and re-architecture technology upgrades from traditional client server to a centralized deployment modelPerform network monitoring diagnostics and proactive and preventative maintenance to ensure systems are operational and running at peak performanceProvide escalation assistance and coachingraining to other team members and assist lead engineers on projects as neededSupport RMM/Cloud management servers and servicesMonitor backup and disaster recovery devices and manage failures as requiredWork varying hours both after normal hours and on weekends as needed to minimize client impactLift and move computer and network equipmentWhat we offer:Competitive payQuarterly BonusesProgressive PTOMedical/Dental/Vision/Life/Disability availableTax deferred retirement plan with company matchCareer Development and Coaching
