Prin Sourcing Engineer for the Operations Innovation Supplier
Optimization Engineering team. In this role, you will have
responsibility to manage medical device packaging projects,
supporting manufacturing transfers and supply continuity. As part
of the part of the Packaging and Specialty Materials group, general
responsibilities include: collaboration on project teams,
packaging/manufacturing process evaluation, assist in determination
of validation requirements, analyzing results to support process
validation completion and assist in manufacturing site
qualification execution.

Day in the life:
This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Supplier
Optimization Engineering for Packaging and Specialty Materials.
You will establish and maintain strong cross functional
collaboration with R&D, Released Product Engineering,
Regulatory, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Manufacturing, OpEx and
leverage these relationships to ensure projects are on time, on
budget and deliver measurable results.
Determines packaging specifications according to the nature of the
product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of
protection required.
Documentation management and/or coordination of Good Manufacturing
Practices (GMPs).
Product/Process technical expertise including reviewing and
ensuring adequacy of supplier part qualifications activities (i.e.
validation including IQ, OQ, PQ activities).
Product/Process technical expertise to assist in determining
internal design qualification requirements and/or write technical
rationales based on sound engineering principles.
Perform Root Cause analysis for test failures and/or write
technical rationales based on sound engineering principles.
Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all
aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and
directing matrixed teams and resources.
Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques.
Lead cross functional teams including design, operations, category
management, contract manufacturers / OEM, supplier quality to
ensure successful completion of projects and business goals.Conduct
supplier design reviews to identify and mitigate test coverage gaps
and address quality and manufacturability defect points.
Develop, communicate, and document transfer project strategies and
plans including budget, detailed schedule creation / maintenance,
KPIs.This includes program objectives, timelines, milestones and
budgets.
Ensure projects remain aligned with the project plan by addressing
any resource conflicts and addressing problems as they
emerge.Facilitate project team meetings and discussion, prepare the
agenda, take and distribute meeting minutes.
Track spending associated to a given project.Provide monthly
forecasts on upcoming spending.Forecast resource and skill set
needs for the projects and participate in resourcing discussions /
negotiation.
Ability to lead and manage multiple projects and collaborating
across the matrix
May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other
lower-level professionals.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with
a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
Applicable Experience in packaging engineering, medical devices,
pharmaceutical or related industry preferred
Experience leading projects/programs including financial
accountability
Prior experience in site-to-site transfer projects in a
manufacturing environment
Leadership, project management, and communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent organization, Planning, Computer skills, Technical
writing, Communication and Presentation skills.
Knowledge of systems including PowerPoint, MS Project, Power BI
Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean certification, DMAIC methodology
preferred
Ability to establish and maintain a trusted role with the various
stakeholders in coordinating multiple functions across the
organization
Knowledge of GD&T
Knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan. Learn

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in
certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with
federal/local regulations and may vary by experience,
certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
