Job Description:

West Fraser, a leader in the North American integrated wood products industry, is seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair the heavy mobile equipment used in our various production plants. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will work directly with an array of complex machinery crucial to the production of lumber, plywood, and other wood products. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, ensuring machinery downtimes are minimized and production goals are met. Conduct regular maintenance and diagnostic tests on mobile heavy equipment. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Maintain service logs and records of all maintenance activities. Collaborate with other team members to manage the preventive maintenance schedule. Respond to emergency breakdowns during operations. Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in line with health and safety standards. Profound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Ability to interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings. Experience with diagnostic software and equipment used in maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
