Tire Technician- Advanced Disposal POSITION SUMMARY: Monitor tire wear and pressure throughout the fleet on a daily basis and perform tire changes for routed trucks the next day. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. o Perform a lot check every evening by gauging tire pressureso Monitor tread depths on all tires o Change tires found flat and change them at the pull pointso May repair tires in some occasions KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: o Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulationso Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization, with customers and external vendorso Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma, GED and/or equivalent work experienceYears of Experience: Two years of tire related experienceCertifications: Must meet all regulatory requirements to operate trucks and other equipment used; a valid commercial driver's license is required MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE USED: o Usual office equipment including telephone, fax, copier, calculator and computero Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlooko Company information systemso Vehicle diagnostic equipmento Tools and equipment used in shop including but not limited to floor sweeper, fork lift, hydraulic hose, air powered tools, hand toolso Two way radioWORK ENVIRONMENT: o Mechanics are exposed to the following conditions:o Slippery floors due to oil and grease spillso Cramped conditions under trucks and in truck compartmentso Petroleum products and solventso Hot temperatures from engines and coolant systemso Vibration from powered hand toolso Occasional exposure to extreme temperatureso May be exposed to solvents and chemicals, and refuse in truckso Exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools and trucksTYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: o Ability to operate trucks and other equipment used as neededo Ability to organize various office systems through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending or folding for the purpose of proper records development and/or managemento Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstationo Ability to climb ladders, bend or stand for long periods of timeo Ability to reach above shoulders and lift a minimum of 50 poundsThis job description is not a contract and does not affect the at-will nature of your employment relationship with Advanced Disposal.
