Job Description The Public Library is actively seeking a Literacy Program Manager - Public Library. The Executive Assistant - Literacy Program Manager reports to the Adult Learning Manager. This position will be responsible for overseeing the operations and programming of the Center for Adult Learning (CAL). Examples of Work * Researches and finds grant opportunities, writing grant proposals, maintains awarded grants, and completes grant reports. * Works with staff on classroom management issues, curriculum, travel to branches and community locations to meet with staff, general personnel and volunteer issues. * Supports the overall mission of the Library by providing customer service in a manner that creates a positive customer experience. * Creates new programs, reworks existing programs, and works with staff on program delivery. * Works with the Florida Literacy Coalition and surrounding Northeast Florida Literacy organizations[A1] . * Handles customer/student issues that arise. * Presents at community events, speaks to community groups, and attends meetings for community partners. * Works with diverse populations to provide services in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner. * Communicates clear direction, manages for results, and leads organizational change. * Assigns responsibility, takes corrective action, demonstrates leadership in evaluating, developing, and motivating employees. * Assists with maintaining appearance standards by reporting facilities issues and picking up litter on library grounds. * Performs related work as required. Open Requirements/Supplemental Information * Eight years of education and/or professional experience in adult literacy, including at least one year as a supervisor.
