Consider joining a community focused on culture, quality, and safety, and apply today! This position is for an experienced Machine Shop Manager who will report to the Site Lead. The ideal candidate must have a strong working knowledge of machining composite materials, CNC set up, operation and programming. Managing all operations of the CNC Department, this role is responsible for the department development, in terms of both organization and growth. The department manager oversees the CNC programmers and operators' daily schedule. This role works in conjunction with the SIOP, Operations and Engineering to seamlessly complete the quoting process and produce the final product accurately and on time. Job responsibilities include: * Overall accountability of a 10+ person multi-functional team comprised of production technicians, programming engineers, and CNC machinists. * Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing machine shop operations. * Responsible for ensuring daily production commitments are met and compliant to all policies, procedures, and work instructions. * Prepare financial and administrative reports for upper management as needed. * Responsible for preparing technician and staff work schedules and ensure workers follow OSHA and all other safety rules. * Supervise machine techs with operating, maintaining, calibrating, and servicing machine shop equipment. * Supervises machine techs based on computer models, sketches, detailed drawings, or other concepts. * Supervises CNC programmers with performing computer aided design and computer manufacturing (CAD/CAM) tasks. * Works with cross functional teams to ensure resources are available and projects are finished per contract commitments. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR * Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR * In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required * Must be willing to obtain Secret Security Clearance * Must be a US Citizen Preferred Qualifications: * Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and machine shop best practices. * Composite machining expertise. * Experience with operating, maintaining installing, calibrating, and servicing machine shop equipment. * Extensive knowledge of computer aided design and computer manufacturing (CAD/CAM). * Operating in a classified manufacturing environment. * New product introduction experience. * Experience with government contracting, DCMA quality buy offs and AS9100 compliance environment. * Crane and rigging experience * Excellent customer service skills and verbal and written communication skills.
