LC Industries Job Description Store Manager - Retail I. JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Base Supply Center Location: Various Reports to: Regional Store Manager II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Responsible for the overall Base Supply Center retail operations and inventory management. III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS Supervises 1-3 Assistant Managers and up to 25 personnel,. Some of these employees could be legally blind. IV. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION Communication with Assistant Managers, store employees, corporate staff, , customers and vendors. V. SUPERVISION REQUIRED . Quarterly visits from regional manager

  • EDUCATION REQUIRED High School graduate with 2-4 years of retail management experience. Positions in larger stores require more extensive retail management experience
  • TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Strong cognitive skill, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis, and merchandising and inventory management expertise. Some stores operate hazmat facility. Any hazmat experience is a plus VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Ideal candidate is a proven, successful manager (of) in a high volume retail operation. Experience managing subordinate managers and/or employees is essential. Experience in planning and executing cycle counting programs and annual inventories is required. IX. TRAVEL REQUIRED Periodic travel, with limited notice, is required for meetings, conferences, annual corporate meeting, training and to assist operations in other stores.
  • SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Responsible for all aspects of the retail operation including, but not limited toordering, pricing, merchandising, inventory integrity, safety and cleanliness.
    • Responsible for all aspects of the stores inventory management programs including, but not limited to, ordering material, cycle counting, conducting an annual inventory, working negative lists, maintaining and updating Core assortment, price changes, ETS management, working all related reports, and cleanliness. Includes maintaining a creative visual appearance for end caps, displays, products of the month and seasonal specials.
    • Responsible for maintaining 98% on the shelf in stock position.
    • Maintain productive relationships with all corporate organizations including, but not limited to, Human Resources (HR), Accounting and Payroll, Information Technology, Purchasing, Pricing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and E-Commerce.
    • Customer service, recognition and customer interface are critical factors to the stores success.
    • Prepares and submits MROs.
    • Works with Human Resource Manager for all personnel-related matters
    • Conducts or contributes to daily huddle meetings. Submits weekly huddle meeting notes
    • Ensures that time cards are properly maintained.
    • Demonstrate continued improvements in specific retail goals including, but not limited to, annual sales goals, stock turn, surplus, inventory reduction and inventory integrity goals.
    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with employees, contemporaries and corporate management.
    • Effective use of the disciplinary system as a tool to motivate underperforming subordinates.
    • Selected stores operate off site hazmat facilities. Compliance with all hazmat related guidance and directives is required.
    • For those stores performing hazmat physical distribution, standard hazmat warehouse practices must be complied with including, but not limited to storage by classification, ensuring stock is properly stored, rotated and issued by expiration date, shelf life extension are performed and expired material is promptly identified for wasting and disposal.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the positions duties, the incumbent is in a moderate office environment or walking and standing in the store which normally has a cement floor. The manager is regularly required to sit; stand; walk, drive and use his/her hands. XII. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is moderate and work is normally performed on a cement floor with limited cushioning.
