Fortegra Corporation was incorporated in 1981 and is based in Jacksonville, Florida.Job DescriptionThe VP, PMO will establish and implement standard procedures for business analysis, project management and execution. This individual will provide leadership, coordination, strategic direction and management of all associated processes and functions. The position ensures the alignment of project and business requirements, while providing visible reporting on project status, tracking, financial implications, and overall performance.

  • Establish and support the ongoing development and implementation of best practices within the PMO for the purpose of achieving business goals and to support the smooth running of projects undertaken by the organization
  • Create and lead a cohesive, high-performing team of project managers and business analysts that partners with stakeholders from initial conception and strategic planning sessions through successful execution and continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement processes to monitor, set appropriate milestones and track overall project performance, and establish PMO best practices throughout the organization
  • Develop and maintain effective escalation management processes
  • Develop effective resource capacity and utilization reporting
  • Maintain risk management controls and monitor and communicate project risks
  • Responsible for change management planning and execution as required
  • Collaborate with other departments as required to execute on timelines to meet strategic goals.
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders and foster cooperation, coordination, and communication across the organizationQualifications
    • Demonstrated experience in leading global Project Management Office with experience leading a PMO
    • 10+ years of experience in Project Management in insurance or financial services
    • Successful experience standing up a PMO
    • Strong business and financial acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, data analysis, critical thinking, business analysis and organizational skills
    • High level of emotional intelligence, influencing skills, and communication skills to enable collaboration with a variety of key stakeholders including senior executive stakeholders
    • Ability to effectively create a collaborative, team-oriented environment including mentoring and motivating team members to be accountable.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
