Position: ExemptJob Summary: This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the CEO. The Finance and Technology Director is a hands-on and participative manager who supervises the Finance/IT/HR Manager, and leads a team to support the following areas: finance, budgeting, and organizational technology. The Finance and Technology Director works closely with the senior leadership team and department managers.Essential duties and responsibilitiesFinancial ManagementPrepare, analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; oversee all accounting functionsCoordinate the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessaryWorks with senior leadership team to prepare annual budget; review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of JHS' financial statusManage organizational cash flow and forecastingUpdate and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; maintain the financial policy procedure manual and policy statements. Make recommendations to CEO for updates and changesEffectively communicate and present any critical financial matters to the CEOMaintain capital equipment inventoryTechnology and AdministrationManage relationship with payroll service vendor, biweekly payroll, and ensure payroll-related legal compliance and all legal aspects of payroll functionOversee IT functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations, serve as primary contact with IT and phone service providersKeep and update lists of technology users and equipment. Schedule replacements on rotating basisWork ScheduleThis position requires a Monday through Friday schedule with flexibility during peak times, occasionally events and holidaysPerformance MeasuresPrepares, analyzes and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely mannerClearly communicates monthly and annual financial statements and overseas all accounting functionsWorks with senior leadership team to prepare annual budget, review all plans and budgets and monitors progress and changes to keep senior leadership team abreast of JHS' financial statusOversees IT functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations, as well as serve as a primary contact with IT and phone service providersThis position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an "at-will" relationship.QualificationsExperience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program areaProficient in QuickBooks onlineAbility to translate financial concepts to - and to effectively collaborate with - programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgroundsTechnology savvy with experience troubleshooting hardware issues; experience in selection, installation and maintenance of hardware and software, and managing relationships with hardware and software service providersKnowledge of accounting and reporting softwareA successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision makingExcellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholdersA multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environmentPersonal qualities of integrity, credibility and dedication to the JHS missionMust have flexible schedule and be available as neededPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in an environment around animalsEducation and ExperienceAt least 7-10 years of finance and administration experienceBachelor's degree and non-profit experience preferred
