Job Description:
DescriptionProvidence School Aquatic Director is responsible for
overseeing all aspects of the school's aquatics program, including
swim team operations, pool facility management, lifeguard
supervision, swim lessons, and overall safety, ensuring compliance
with regulations while fostering a positive and inclusive
environment for student athletes and community users.Key
Responsibilities:
- Lead the high school swim team, including practice planning,
competition scheduling, and coaching staff supervision.
- Develop training plans to optimize athlete performance and
achieve competitive goals.
- Monitor student-athletes' progress, provide feedback, and
address individual needs.
- Pool Facility Operations:
- Manage the daily operations of the school pool, including
scheduling, pool maintenance, chemical monitoring, and equipment
upkeep.
- Ensure adherence to pool safety protocols and emergency
procedures.
- Collaborate with facility staff on pool repairs and
maintenance.
- Aquatics Programming:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive aquatics program,
including swim lessons for students and community members.
- Manage registration, scheduling, and pricing for aquatics
programs.
- Coordinate with other school departments to incorporate
aquatics into the curriculum.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the aquatics program budget, including
equipment purchases, staff salaries, and facility maintenance
costs.
- Monitor expenses and identify areas for cost optimization.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal
regulations related to pool operations and aquatic safety.
- Investigate and address any safety concerns or incidents.
- Community Engagement:
- Promote the school's aquatics program to parents, students, and
the wider community.
- Collaborate with local organizations to host aquatic events and
outreach initiatives.Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license required.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Proven experience as a swim coach at the high school
level.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with
diverse groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
