Summary: Senior Logistics Support Specialist shall have full authority to act for the Contractor on all matters relating to Contract Performance in the absence of the Site Manager managing DLA NAS Jacksonville Warehouse and Distribution Center. Responsible for the supervision and management of personnel performing receiving, stocking, issuing, packing, shipping and disposing of all classes of supply to supported customers. The Site Manager has full authority to act for the Company on all matters relating to Contract Performance. Ensures property accountability and inventory of assets using manual processes and automated software. Performs analysis and resolves issues, interacts with Government officials to include military and civilian customers, contracting officers, contracting officer representatives (COR), attend meetings and conferences, provide reports and briefings, and supports warehouse and distribution operations by researching, reading, interpreting and analyzing data in support of actions and decisions customer------?--?s regulatory guidance. Duties and Responsibilities: Warehousing & Distribution Support: Specific job duties include, but are not limited to: Provide customer assistance in a timely and courteous manner. Provide support to Services, Units, Organizations and Agencies in accordance with Defense of Defense & Federal and State Regulations, DLA Manuals, Instructions, Local Policies and Procedures, and standing operating procedures. Apply wholesale supply management principles, practices and knowledge of regulatory requirements and performance of supply management/storage/distribution functions pertaining to requisition, receipt, storage, issue, inventory, packing & shipping and property accountability. Ensure support to the Government is executed as stipulated for tasks and functions relevant to receiving, issuing distribution, packing, shipping and storage of materiel; identify, request and receive materials, parts and supplies; examine and inventory items of supply received to verify part number/stock number and quantity according to the shipment documentation, correct shipping addresses and condition of shipment; document findings through warehouse and distribution standard systems, initiate discrepancy reports and investigations. Ensure condition code, e.g. completeness and serviceability of parts and materiel prior to distribution. Provide overall supervision for the Company employees to include, but not limited to, planning and managing the contract professionally; coaching and mentoring supervisors and leads ensuring that work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources; ensuring that accurate and timely reports are provided; effective supervision to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods in the performance of services ordered; and execute cost saving factors and quality controls to ensure work is performed as scheduled and at a fair and reasonable cost. Provide overall management coordination and serve as the central point of contact (POC) with the Government for all work under the contract. Individuals currently serving as a Site Manager will be considered qualified, competent and eligible. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage, and successfully complete all functions, tasks and work assignments. Knowledge of wholesale supply warehousing and distribution operations Knowledge of DoD/DLA warehousing and distribution management support systems Knowledge using regulatory and technical manuals both paper and electronic Knowledge of Department of Defense supply procedures and regulatory guidance Knowledge of equipment and techniques, tactics and procedures required to support DoD warehouse storage and shipping operations Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English. Minimum Job Requirements: Must have a Secret clearance Bachelors Degree - Distribution Management, Business Management or Business Administration preferred. Must have a minimum of (2) years of experience using automated warehouse management systems within the past five (3) years. Must be knowledgeable of DoD/DLA supply management principles and regulatory requirements. Must have a minimum of (5) years experience in Distribution Management, or at least seven (7) years of management experience in distribution operations similar in size and complexity to DLA Warehouse & Distribution Support Services operations. Licensed to drive/operate Government owned sedans and pickup trucks
