Public Trust Clearance to support KPS and our government customer

Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:---
Complete assigned duties with relative independence and minimal
guidanceThe occupational health nurse will work independently at
on-site Occupational Health Clinics during respective hours of
operation for occupational and non-occupational office visits.---
Works closely with other occupational and safety professionals to
coordinate and manage the occupational health program for District
employees.--- Administers emergency care for occupational and
non-occupational illness or injury following clinical care services
in accordance with the policies and clinical standard operation
procedures (SOP)--- Operates under the guidelines of the Clinical
and Program Management SOP.--- Schedules and performs health
service activities such as preliminary tests for physical exams
(i.e., blood pressure, EKG, phlebotomy, audiometry, spirometry,
vision screen).--- Administers injections, vaccines, medications,
and treatments according to Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) and as authorized by the Occupational Health
Physician.--- Provide clinical consultation to employees on
healthcare subjects including nutrition, dental, care of minor
injuries and illness, family health problems, smoking cessation,
home care, and communicable diseases.--- Advises employees to
obtain medical care and makes referral to private physicians,
dentists, clinics, or community resources, with advice depending on
the apparent nature and origin of employee's problem.--- Plans,
coordinates, and provides health education to employees through the
use of newsletters, health handbooks, individual health education
sessions, and other activities.--- Provides narrative documentation
on Nurse's Notes for services rendered and follows-up on referrals
to ensure employee's optimum medical care.--- Conducts telephonic
or face-to-face interview on serious or acute conditions,
compensable injuries, chronic illness, pregnancy, etcwith clinics,
hospitals, and the respective employee.--- Maintains records and
assists with inventory assessment of supplies and equipment.---
Coordinates with the Nurse Manager regarding medical surveillance
of employees who work in hazardous environments and submits medical
surveillance data to Nurse Manager as requested.--- Assists Nurse
Manager with communication between managers, safety personnel, and
building officials to ensure specific actions are taken by
appropriate personnel to eliminate or reduce hazards and improve
health and safety of employees.--- Maintains medical
confidentiality of employees and clinical records and understands
the HIPAA and the Privacy Act.--- Conducts worksite visits to
ensure a healthful environment is maintained by reviewing the work
environment, safety and health issues, and hazards identified by
Industrial Hygienist.--- Performs computer-related tasks associated
with travel medicine and the customer's software programs for
financial and/or deployment documentation, electronic medical
records, and statistical reporting.--- Possess computer skills with
Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and data entry skills sufficient to
create and maintain clinic record keeping duties.--- Serves as an
occupational health advisor in support of District activities and
provides support to local district Safety Office endeavors.---
Assesses employees with may develop emergent conditions while on
the jobThe nurse provides care following medical guidelines, and
may seek physician guidance, take preplanned emergency measures or
request 911 assistance.--- Attends health promotion/wellness events
at offsite locations (within 50 miles of base clinic).--- Must
maintain knowledge of Federal regulations put forward by the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Privacy
Act.--- Provides training to other nurses.--- Travel to other
districts/states for 5-7 days periods for training/professional
development or to provide trainingMinimum Education
Requirements/Certification/Licensure/Experience--- Education:
Graduation from a National League of Nursing accredited school of
nursing--- Successful completion and passing score on the National
Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN)--- Current active, valid,
unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of residence
with multistate compact privileges as travel is required for this
position.--- The OHN shall have at least three (3) years of nursing
experience in medical surgical or critical care nursing with an
interest in Occupational HealthExperience in Occupational Health
Nursing is preferred.--- Occupational Health Nursing as a COHN or
COHN-S preferred--- Current Healthcare Provider BLS--- Heartsaver
Instructor certification issued by the American Heart Association
is required within 90 days of hire.--- Must be willing to travel up
to 5 - 7 days at a time several times a year.--- Certified
Occupational Hearing Conservatist (CAOHC) certification obtained
through the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing
Conservation (CAOHC) will be required within 6 months of
hireClearance Requirements--- DOD Security Clearance will be
requiredRequirements--- You must have the ability to pass a
Moderate Risk Public Trust--- Proficiency in all skills reported to
perform clinical services listed above including phlebotomy,
intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, and basic life
support.--- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office software
including Word, Excel, and Outlook.--- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills.--- Ability to perform the physical
requirements of the clinical nursing duties (e.g., CPR performance,
responding immediately to an emergency, carrying a thirty (30)
pound Emergency Go-Bag, etc.) without accommodation as well as free
from any communicable disease(s)Working Environment & Conditions
