Responsibilities
The Division of Anatomic Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville,
FL is seeking an Academic Surgical Pathologist with expertise in
Renal Pathology to join our large and growing academic practice.
The candidates will be expected to participate in general surgical
pathology and/or cytopathology, as well as a focus on native and
transplant renal biopsies. This position offers numerous
opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration as well as
personal career advancement. The ideal candidates is an
academically productive pathologist with excellent interpersonal
skills, a commitment to multidisciplinary patient care and an
interest in advancing the field of renal pathology.
Mayo Clinic Florida is a major transplant center in the southeast
region including, kidney, pancreas, liver, lung, heart, and bone
marrow. Approximately 208 renal transplants and 900 renal biopsies
are performed annually (80% transplant; 20% native). Additionally,
about 400 native biopsy consults are received from clients in
Florida and neighboring states. Physicians work in a
multi-disciplinary environment with world renowned transplant teams
providing the best care and novel therapeutic options for patients.

test menu. The selected candidates will join a group of 15 surgical
pathologists and 18 clinical pathologists in a practice environment
that provides an opportunity for professional growth and career
development. All surgical and clinical pathologists have
subspecialty expertise and participate in scholarly activities
through research and education. The position includes an academic
appointment with the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic.
Qualifications
Board eligibility or board certification in Anatomic Pathology or
Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required. Completion of a
fellowship in renal pathology and/or membership in Renal Pathology
Society is required. Two years post fellowship experience is
preferred.
