Job Description:
Mayo Clinic, a leading nonprofit in medical services with a
commitment to integrated clinical practice, education, and
research, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Team Lead for our
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
This night-time position requires a compassionate and skilled
leader who can guide a nursing team while ensuring exceptional
patient care standards. The role involves direct patient care, team
coordination, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary healthcare
professionals to enhance patient outcomes in critical care
settings. Coordinate and supervise nursing staff in MICU and PCU to
ensure compliance with all clinical, administrative, and regulatory
requirements. Develop team schedules, oversee patient assignments,
and ensure adequate staffing for night shifts. Provide direct care
to critically ill patients, evaluating medical needs and
administering prescribed treatments. Collaborate with
multi-disciplinary team members including physicians, specialists,
and support staff to develop care plans and interventions. Mentor
and train new nurses and staff members, facilitating ongoing
education and professional development. Lead quality assurance
activities, including reviewing and analyzing patient care reports
to identify areas for improvement. Participate in research and
clinical trials as applicable, maintaining an evidence-based
approach to care. Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in
handling critical care and life support equipment Ability to work
effectively in a high-pressure environment Skilled in managing
complex patient cases with empathy and professionalism Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Current Registered
Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Certification in Basic
Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Additional certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred
but not required
