Mayo Clinic, a leading nonprofit in healthcare focused on holistic patient care, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre-Operative Evaluation Clinic. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to impact patient outcomes by preparing them for surgery through comprehensive evaluation and care planning. This position blends clinical excellence with compassionate care, reflecting our commitment to treating all who need healing. Perform initial patient screenings and patient histories. Evaluate patient readiness for surgery and identify potential risk factors. Develop and implement pre-operative plan of care in collaboration with the surgical team. Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, including potential risks and recovery processes. Monitor patient health and respond to emergent needs during the pre-op phase. Maintain communication with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure comprehensive patient care. Document all patient interactions in electronic health records accurately and comprehensively. Strong clinical skills with a focus on surgical preparation and patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary medical team. Proficient in the use of medical software for patient records. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
