The Manager, Payroll and Benefit Plans -is responsible for payroll processing and associated remittances. -In addition, he/she will assist the Payroll & Benefit Plans Director in reconciling payroll & benefit transactions, recording general ledger activity, maintaining benefit systems, and assisting employees. He/she must be proactive, able to work independently, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, legal requirements, and NFL rules. -In addition, he/she must be detail-oriented, have a high degree of accuracy and able to produce deliverables and work product in a timely manner. -This position is a part of the Finance & Planning department.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for payroll processing utilizing applicable payroll software, which includes preparation and processing of each payroll

Process all former employee compensation payrolls as needed, which includes severance pay, SERP payments, etc.

Process related payments and reconciliations for all health and benefits plans, including but not limited to life, health, dental, vision, and disability insurances, along with FSA and HSA plans

Assist in the administration of both 401(k) plans (office staff & players)

Provide timely responses to employees when answering their payroll & benefit questions

Responsible for monitoring time approvals & PTO balances and training employees & managers in these systems

Provide verification of employment upon request

Data entry of new hires and terminations, salary adjustments, deductions, and benefits on all systems

Enroll newly eligible employees in all benefits plans for which they are eligible and elect to enroll in, as well as the timely processing of all benefit changes and terminations

Assist in managing the annual benefit open enrollment process

Assist in the accurate and timely completion of employee W-2 forms

Pay invoices/fund items and ensure payroll systems are updated for HSA account payments, 401k funding & loans, bonuses, health benefits, & other deductions requiring payments

Report creation/generation within payroll software to assist in managing day to day responsibilities

Complete monthly reconciliation of assigned payroll & benefit related general ledger accounts

Assist in document preparation and reconciliation of the 401k, HSA and other programs, for distribution and dissemination to third-party administrators

Other payroll duties to include various reconciliation/spreadsheets in Excel are required

The Payroll & Benefit Director will assign other duties and projects on an as needed basis

Job Requirements

Minimum of five years' specific experience in payroll processing (preferably with Dayforce)

Solid understanding of benefit plans and use of various provider software systems

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word)

Strong accounting background and monthly reconciliations (preferably with Great Plains)

Experience in payroll tax reporting (multi-state jurisdictions a plus)

Experience with time keeping and PTO

Organization, attention to detail and customer service oriented

Ability to effectively multi-task on a daily basis

Team player with independent initiative

Thorough with analytical attention to detail and critical thinking

Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)

Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize

Ability to perform in a team environment

Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
