Primary responsibility for the Transportation Managemewnt Systems
(TMS) at Crowley that support the Land Transportation Business
Units. The role is responsible for implementation, enhancements,
integrations and support of our TMS systems.GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES: Initial focus will be to implement core third
party TMS Systems. Manage a team to conduct requirements and
process analysis. Owns responsibility to implement the TMS Systems
from configuration, setup, install, integration and testing. Setup
a support team to manage the ongoing support and enhancements. Work
jointly with business leaders to develop the systems roadmap to
support current business strategies. Provide input into information
technology strategic planning. Establish standards and policies;
implements and recommends actions to improve work flow, simplify
operational and reporting procedures and improve performance
standards. Develop and manage the budget for assigned areas of
responsibility. Plans and manages projects, develops business cases
and assures that all necessary steps are taken to meet project
goals and milestones. Make recommendations on selection of end-user
data access tools that best fit the business and technology
environment. Develop strong relationships with business partners,
an understanding of business processes and provides technical
consulting to other areas of the business. Maintain professional
and technical knowledge through educational workshops; reviewing
professional publications; establishing personal networks;
benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in
professional societies. Makes personnel decisions, assigning
personnel to projects and directing their activities. EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer science strongly preferred or
equivalent experience. EXPERIENCE: 5 -10 years
management/supervisory experience in one of the responsibility
areas listed above. Proven success record in managing projects.
Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience
developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet
established goals and objectives. Requires the ability to
effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
Experience implementing third party systems is required. Experience
as the primary contact to the business teams of a particular area
is critical. Experience in Land Transportation and TMS Systems
highly desirable. Experience with Blue Yonder or McLeod TMS Systems
desired but not required. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with
Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and
Sharepoint. Experience with Smartsheet is a plus. Experience with
systems integration and testing Mulesoft is a plus. COMPETENCIES:
Experience in the implementation of a third-party system is
required. Knowledge of Transportation TMS Systems is desired. A
solution-oriented mindset and effective communication with various
levels of management in particular end user management is critical.
Ability to explain technical complexities in simple terms is
important. Ability to design business system architectures and
ability to manage technical requirements, business requirements and
integration requirements is important. Ability to manage multiple
concurrent projects and programs is critical as well. JOB SCOPE:
Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING
CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to
excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a
computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to
