We seek to hire several Software Engineers of different experience
levels to join our R&D distributed team that designs and
supports the future of the North American Freight and Passenger
Railroad Market. Your tasks in this role will include developing
critically important systems that form the backbone of technologies
like network optimization and an autonomous rail network. We're
looking for determined individuals who are motivated to learn new
things. It would be best if you had a strong sense of ownership
through all stages of a software project up to and including the
final customer review and sign-off.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Covering all aspects of Requirements Engineering, Design,
Development, Documentation, V&V support, and Software
- Interacting with internal and external customers - sometimes
taking technical concepts and explaining them to non-technical
- Tackling complex software topics such as multithreading and
asynchronous inter-process communication
- Software Engineering in an Agile Environment, Analyzing
Information, Software Debugging, Software Documentation, Software
Testing, Problem Solving, and Teamwork
To thrive in this role, you have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or a similar field
or a combination of education and hands-on software development
- Experience in estimating software development efforts and agile
- Experience with Event-Driven, Service-Based, and Cloud-Native
Architecture and Design
- Experience with: Java (including JavaFX), JUnit, mocking
frameworks (e.g., Mockito), Angular and/or React
- Experience with AMQP, git, Kubernetes and Docker, and
- Preferred skills: Industrial Control Systems, RabbitMQ,
PostgreSQL, Python, C++, CENELEC (EN 50128/50129)

salary range for entry-level in Pittsburgh, PA, or Jacksonville,
FL, is $97,100 - $131,100. The salary may be higher or lower
depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge,
skills, and qualifications.
