Overview Open & closing dates 06/27/2019 to 07/01/2019 Service Competitive Pay scale & grade GS 9 - 11 Salary $57,812 to $82,542 per year Appointment type Permanent Work schedule Full-Time Location 1 vacancy in the following location: Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL 1 vacancy Relocation expenses reimbursed No Telework eligible Yes as determined by agency policy Duties Summary You will serve as an IT Specialist (Application Software) in the Corporate Operations & Total Force Group, IT/IM Department of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities You will install, test, and implement modifications to existing software systems; determine the feasibility of installing modifications; and schedule implementation to ensure continuity of operations. You will design and develop efficient and effective applications through optimal use of reusable components. You will support the maintenance of existing applications software and participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new or modified applications software. You will install and maintain software and hardware; control current versions and future releases of application software; and document the physical configuration on an information system. You will participate in the planning and delivery of a full range of customer support services to the organization. Qualifications To qualify for GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Independently determines the feasibility of installing modifications to existing systems software, and schedule the implementation to ensure continuity of operations; 2) Identifies and specifies business requirements for new or enhanced systems, and develops basic system specifications; 3) Design, write, test, debug, and maintain software applications to ensure applications are consistent with the current and planned infrastructure and data environments; 4) Evaluates and recommends the purchase of software program that partially match technical specifications, modify code, test functionality, coordinate installation, and maintains customizations across new releases; and 5) Building simple and complex queries in SQL while combining and parsing data from different data sources and tables. To qualify for GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education To substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-11 level, you must meet the following education requirements: Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. To substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-09 level, you must meet the following education requirements: Possess a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
