TrustPoint.One has partnered with a boutique law firm based in FL that is seeking an associate with a minimum of 1 year of experience for their Jacksonville office. The associate position will handle Construction Defect, General Liability, Auto, Premises, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death matters. The preferred candidate will be a motivated, self-driven, creative, problem solver with a passion for litigation and an attention for detail.
Firm offers a competitive benefit package including Health, Dental, Life Insurance and 401k. Must have Florida Bar License and be eligible to practice law in good standing. Salary will be determined by experience.
Responsibilities --- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of agreements, and manage all aspects of litigation from the pleading phase to trial. --- Attending Mediations --- Take depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts --- Interface with clients about discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and other case-related work --- Perform legal research on a wide range of legal matters --- Make court appearances, attend hearings, and depositions. --- Report to clients and comply with all relevant guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications --- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) --- State bar certification in Florida --- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in Litigation. --- Extremely detail oriented with ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines. --- Strong organizational and project management skills Preferred Experience --- Court Room Experience --- Experience conducting and defending depositions --- Experience with motion drafting --- Experience with propounding and responding to written discovery --- Experience with client relations --- Hourly Billing experience
