Description

Develop strategy and lead a creative analytical team to provide key business analytics and insights to support our sales performance management and operational goals. Influences and interacts with key leadership positions, including executives. Analyze competitive landscape data, member and provider behavior, analyze and develop distribution strategies, package key findings, and communicate our results to key leaders and cross functional groups. Engage and lead, with business partners, in finding opportunities using data driven analytics. Own a forward-looking view of analytics and the business to stay familiar with changing market trends. Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a staff of analysts from entry level to manager positions.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Development of analytics team that drives innovative thinking and develops complex analyses of business conditions, pricing, distribution strategy, and applies robust knowledge of factors (including actuarial) across the insurance business

• Development of a team into high-functioning business analysts with strong technical skills and the ability to effectively apply those skills to enhance the organization’s access and view of complex, interdependent data

• Development of predictive models, analysis of historical costs and sales data to identify best practices for managing cost, access, and distribution

• Analysis of multiple aspects of the health insurance business including competitive analysis, performance analysis and analysis to support decision making

• Financial analysis and insights to tie our sales performance goals to operating income targets by Product and Segment

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience

• 6+ years' related work experience

• Strong understanding of health insurance, healthcare financing, managed care, and overall ability to support key functional areas to enable the company to hit operating targets

• 3+ years' direct supervisory/management experience

• Strong technical skills - intermediate to advanced level experience with SAS, or R, and/or VBA

• Strong business acumen, and understanding of risk management

• Experience working with Actuarial, Underwriting, and/or key Finance areas

• Knowledge of statistical methodologies and population risk adjusters

• Superior communication and management skills

• Able to influence decision making

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in a related field

• MBA or Advanced Analytical Degree in the fields of Finance, Economics

• ASA or FSA of the Society of Actuaries

• Experience and knowledge of the health insurance market in Florida
