The Director of IT role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department.

Essential Functions

Networking Assist in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions, and major modifications to all computer and POS infrastructure through the NOC.

Complete network terminations, patch devices to their assigned port reservations, and ensure communication on all ports necessary to meet business needs.

Internal Systems Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.

Works with vendor teams to help implement Internal Systems.

Possesses significant knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures.

Configures, and maintains a minimum of 8 windows servers with SQL Always on Failover Cluster Instances

SQL transaction, and snapshot replication

Backups

Understands complex database concepts and effectively employs different database design techniques.

IIS

Install, updates, and maintains all software necessary on servers, and workstations

Maintains, and designs new content on an ASP internal website to include: Posting links to breaking news.

Adding additional content accessible to all users on the network.

Designing new pages as necessary to the website.

Exhibits proficiency in HTML and one scripting language.

Images, and maintains 250+ Windows desktop, and laptops to include: Installs, and updates to POS software

Manages the user’s public desktop on all machines

1st level hardware troubleshooting, and resolution following a ticketing system for warranty hardware.

Manages all printers (networked and local), and handles setup and support for the devices

Manages the network Compass computers utilize

Help Desk + Administration Answers inbound calls, and provides expert level support when necessary.

Oversees all help desk activities at the regional level.

Responds to escalated help desk issues.

Oversees the administration and maintenance of our tracking software.

Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.

Travels to, and provides on-site support for any, and all technology related equipment.

Asset Management Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.

Manages the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies.

Ensures that company assets are maintained per asset management guidelines.

Communication Facilitates team meetings effectively.

Holds regular status meetings with team.

Keeps team well informed of changes within the organization and general news.

Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to superiors.

Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.

Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

Relays relevant IT-related information to the company in a timely manner.

Management Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.

Serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters for the office assigned.

Responds/acts on upper-management direction.

Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field.

· 2+ years of progressive IT experience

· Experience with Windows O/S and Active Directory environment.

· Knowledge of SQL server database environment

· Basic Knowledge of Computer Network Infrastructure Design and Communications

· Experience with Hyper-V virtual server environments preferred

· Experience with CS GOLD or ODYSSEY

· Knowledge of Point of Sale solutions and related technologies is preferred – Micros 9700 a plus Customer Service/Help Desk/Remote Support Experience or Equivalent

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute concurrent tasks independently Strong Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving Capabilities.
