The incumbent of this position is assigned to the Transportation
Department. Duties include driving staff escorted mental health
patients in state issued vans, buses and cars to and from
appointments on and off hospital grounds. Northeast Florida State
Hospital transporters are expected to provide professional services
to the patients we serve and be courteous to our internal and
external partners. In addition to driving, transporters will
physically assist patients as needed, deliver legal documents, and
assist with luggage. Transporters will also be responsible to
deliver confidential documents and medication.
Position requires Class B CDL drivers' license with passenger
and school bus endorsement.
