Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Call Center Supervisor, the Pharmacy Call Center Team Lead provides knowledgeable and courteous customer service for internal and external inquiries. 

  • Provide real-time support to pharmacies with point of service inquiries
  • Educate prescribers on formulary and prior authorization processes
  • Enter customer data and other relevant information into our documentation tool
  • Assist Pharmacy Technicians with escalations
  • Assist members with pharmacy benefit inquiries
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure contact handling accuracy and operational effectiveness
  • Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to customers and appropriate internal staff
  • Work on special projects for the department
  • Provide side-by-side training as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the Trainer, Supervisor, and Manager on various pharmacy special projects and programs; provides input regarding integration of technical support services
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Supervisor

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Active/current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, NCCT, or ExCpt) required
  • Minimum five (5) years of current/recent PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager) and/or pharmacy experience required
