Job Description:

Position involves the designing, developing, testing, debugging, implementation, and maintenance of SharePoint, web, and Windows based applications using C# and the .NET framework. Apply current .NET technologies to develop and modify SharePoint server portals.Design, develop, and manage SharePoint site content and capabilities.Provide daily onsite maintenance of existing SharePoint portals.Oversee an installation of the Microsoft SharePoint collaboration and content management platform consisting of a multiple server farm.Design, develop, test, and support software systems and sub-systems with an emphasis on both front-end methodologies and server-side programming.Interact with internal and external customers within the organization and provide feedback.Estimation, planning and tracking of own work efforts - including project task definition.Work toward providing complete solutions both independently and in a team environment.Provide technical analysis of problems and provide solutions.Maintain assigned applications, debug and resolve technical issues, and implement improvements proactively.Required Candidate Skills, Knowledge, and Proficiencies:SharePoint (Moss 2007, 2010, 2016, 2019, Online)Microsoft .NETC#NETSQL / TSQLExperience in full software development life cycle (requirements gathering through development and test to maintenance).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate)NET MVC or knowledge of MVC frameworksCSS (Cascading Style Sheets)AJAXJQuery/JavaScriptWCF Services experienceSSIS & Reporting Services experienceHTMLWeb Services development experienceXMLJavaScript development experienceDevelopment experience using load balancers and profilersPrevious Experience Required:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience.1 to 12+ years of professional software development experience using current object-oriented methodologies.1 to 6+ years of professional SharePoint development and administration.Additional Requirements:Must be available to work during limited emergency declarations as prescribed by the City of Jacksonville Civil Service and Personnel Rules and Regulations Rules.Must be able to conduct research and effectively collaborate with outside entities and agencies regarding current best practices Must maintain existing knowledge and skills through continuing education;Must have a personal standard of high attention to detail in all work tasks;Must work well as part of a team and/or as an individual depending on the task at hand;Must be flexible with changing, and often unexpected, work demands to meet the operational needs of the agency;Must be able to adhere to the Core Values of the agency: Worthy of Trust, Respect for Each Other, Community Focused, and Always Improving;Must exhibit a commitment to continuous improvement to eliminate waste, improve the work experience for all employees, and perfect our ability to add value to our services for our customers.
