The P-8 Training Systems team, part of Government Training Engineering, is currently seeking an Associate-level or Mid-level Systems Engineer for its Hazelwood, MO, Orlando, FL, or Jacksonville, FL location. P-8 Training Systems is responsible for hardware and software design, development, build, delivery, and integration of flight training solutions to the warfighter. The flight simulators, staffed stations, and electronic classrooms are high fidelity, tech heavy, fully immersive training machines that allow the warfighter to maintain their mission readiness in their pursuit to defend freedom around the world. The P-8 Poseidon is the anti-surface/submarine warfare aircraft of the future, built on a commercial derivative airframe, and outfitted to protect the waterways of the world. Candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration, and test engineers.

The selected candidate will be a member of a geographically dispersed, high-performing, collaborative team, and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills. This team operates in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to support all aspects of product development. Position Responsibilities:

  • Support or lead the development and documentation of systems requirements, architecture, and design using a Model Based Engineering Approach and tools.
  • Develop or support the execution of systems-level concept of operations, system and subsystem requirements, and system level verification.
  • Conduct system level analysis, architecture and requirements trade studies.
  • Support program and supplier requirement and design reviews.
  • Prepare and publish contractually required Documentation, including performance specifications and verification reports.
  • Support or develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Evaluates customer and operational needs to help define and coordinate the system architecture, performance requirements, technical parameter integration, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces. This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Ability to travel 10%
    • Bachelor's degree or higher engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
    • 1+ years of systems engineering related experience
    • Experience working in a team environment with strong ability to collaborate virtually Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceTypical Education & Experience:
        Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

        Summary pay range for associate level: $81,600 - 110,400

        Summary pay range for mid-level: $97,750 - 132,250
