Job Description:

The Data Science Specialist will support a variety of projects by applying data mining and quantitative skill sets to solve business problems. The Data Science Specialist will be well-versed in a wide assortment of data streams such as internal shipments, distributor-to-retailer movement, and retail sales and support Swisher's functional areas including Business Analytics, Sales, Trade Marketing, Manufacturing and Corporate Planning. Key Responsibilities Apply data science skills to cleanse, integrate, mine, discern patterns, and ultimately model disparate data sources to provide analytic solutions companywide Directly support the generation of monthly item-level sales forecasts, which incorporate the latest marketplace dynamics Deliver ad-hoc analytical support to the Advanced Analytics team, as well as to personnel at all levels throughout the organization Provide cross-training opportunities to the team by sharing experience with open-source technologies to augment group development Present analytical results to various stakeholders when needed Develop deep business expertise in the integral data sources required for solving each business challenge to unlock value in data Develop and maintain thorough project documentation Qualifications: Required 2+ years' experience in quantitative and creative problem-solving skills 2+ years' experience in open-source statistical programming languages such as R or Python Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to present to all levels of the organization Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Advanced Analytics, Data Analytics, or related field Travel: up to 10% Preferred At least one year of experience with a statistical modeling tool, preferably SAS, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI #MONPDN-99172836-77f9-4936-a9a5-3cdc8ef95c44
