To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability desired. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform NDE, WPQT, FCAW with ceramic tape, single vee, open butt in 1G, 2G and 3G positions. Perform NDE, WPQT, FCAW with open butt and back gouge in 3G and 4G positions. Performs the above listed WPQT's under limited supervision. Perform grinding and joint preparation for NDE and inspection processes. Must be able to perform the FCAW welds above, on mock up test station. Must be proficient in carbon arc gouging. The individual must have working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude and ability and be able to follow directions. The individual must possess experience in the trade; knowledge of ship terminology, blueprint reading, measurements. The individual must demonstrate ability to interpret job specifications and perform steel repairs on marine vessels. Must be able to understand and follow directions and work with limited supervision. Must be willing to work with and train subordinates. Must comply with Company safety rules and OSHA standards. Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment as prescribed under OSHA standards. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to tour all vessels, piers, docks and work sites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have own transportation Must be US Citizen Must pass drug and background screening and be eligible to obtain a DBIDS badge
