The Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support for a Naval Medical Readiness SystemThis engineer contributes to the evolving infrastructure by providing expert server administration responsibilities and will be instrumental transitioning into a cloud environmentThis is a Hybrid role with onsite support one day a week and as needed Responsibilities--- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows server infrastructure to support business-critical applications and services.--- Perform system-level configuration of products including determination of software, hardware, OS, and other platform specifications, either with on-premises equipment or IaaS/PaaS/SaaS cloud components--- Monitor system performance and capacity, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.--- Implement security best practices to protect server infrastructure against unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.--- Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities in coordination with other IT teams.--- Develop and maintain documentation for server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.--- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to enhance server infrastructure.--- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the IT team.--- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for server-related incidents and emergencies.--- This is a Hybrid role with onsite support one day a week and as needed Qualifications:--- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field(Preferred)--- 8+ Years Experience with Server Administration--- Active Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility requirements.--- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification--- Experience transitioning from an onsite physical server environment to a cloud environment.--- Ability to operate in an IIS environment.--- Manage a server that leverages a SQL Database--- Expert in server installation and maintenance--- Proficiency in managing Windows Server (Windows 2016 and newer) and/or Linux/Unix-based operating systems.--- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V--- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, and Azure.--- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).--- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is preferred.--- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.--- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organizationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or other legally protected status.
