Location -8201 W Broward Blvd., Plantation, FL 33324 Requirements -Date: 9/12/24 DOO Name: Simone Escalante Facility Name: HCA Florida Westside ED and HCA Florida Plantation FSED Specialty: Emergency Medicine ABEM ONLY Position specific questions - Reason for the need? Understaffed - Is there a specific start date needed? December/January - Duration of need? Until new hires found possibly summer '25 - What's the schedule? On-site call coverage weekends nights - Fair scheduling to include mixture of days nights weekdays and weekends. No Call Responsibilities o Are there specific dates needed? - No Flexible and fair scheduling o If call is involved what is call volume? How often do they get called back on-site? o Call/Rotation schedule? N/A No Call - Will they take an APP or SFA when applicable? Need an MD/DO not an APP advanced practice provider. - - What are expectations for orientation? ie shadow day? EMR training? - Shadow shift to include orientation and EMR training if needed. Candidate Parameters - Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? - EM residency trained board certified/board eligible. ACLS/BLS/PALS - Experience level? - Any Credentialing questions: - Will emergency privileges be an option? - Yes - Are case logs needed? If so what are the requirements? - Yes 24 months Hospital/unit questions - Number of beds? Hospital has 250 beds. ER has 43 beds - Census? - Main ER: 150 pts/day. FSED: 60 pts/day - How many daily admissions? 35 admission rate - Are there any consults and if so how many per day? N/A - What's the patient population? Variety of patients. - Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? Non-trauma center Comprehensive stroke and STEMI center. 3 year EM Residency program on site. Wide variety of case type and acuity at main. Typically low acuity at FSED. - What does the support staff look like? Fully staffed with ED nurses and techs. 2-3 APPs per day. 6-8 EM residents per day. Additional off service residents. - How will follow up cases be handled? when applicable- inpatient or outpatient - N/A Specialty Specific Questions: Emergency Medicine - What are the shift times? o Main ER - 6a-4p 9a-8p 11a-11p 4p-3a 8p-7a 2-3 APPs and 6-8 EM residents o FSED ER - 6a-6p 6p-6p Doctor 10a-10p APP 2p-12a EM Resident - Is call involved? - NO - What procedures are required? - Typical EM procedures - What does the support staff include? - RNs Techs APPs EM residents - What is the average patient census? - 150 pts/day Main 60 pts/day FSED What are the most common cases the locum will see? - Wide variety of cases Annual ER admissions? 50k Does the unit use robots?
