This position is designed to equip participants with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in a residential construction field such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and more. The instructor will develop and implement comprehensive training programs that cater to diverse learning styles and backgrounds, ensuring that all participants can achieve their full potential. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, the instructor will help build confidence and self-sufficiency among participants. Ultimately, the goal is to facilitate successful transitions into the workforce, contributing to the overall mission of social assistance and community development.Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven 5 years' experience in carpentry trade, with relevant certifications.
• Previous teaching or training experience, preferably in a vocational setting.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, vocational training, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including at-risk youth or adults.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.Responsibilities:
    • Design and deliver engaging curriculum and training sessions in residential carpentry.
    • Assess participants' skills and progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
    • Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
    • Collaborate with other staff members to create a holistic support system for participants.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve training programs.Skills:The required skills for this role include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for effectively conveying complex concepts to participants. Technical proficiency in various skilled trades with an emphasis on carpentry, will be utilized daily to demonstrate techniques and ensure participants gain hands-on experience. Organizational skills are crucial for planning lessons and managing classroom activities, while adaptability is necessary to cater to the varying needs of participants. Preferred skills such as knowledge of adult learning principles will enhance the instructor's ability to engage and motivate learners. Overall, a combination of technical expertise and teaching acumen will drive the success of the training programs and the participants' future careers.
