Our foundational success is based on the ability to operate efficiently, attract, retain, develop HR team members, strengthen controls, and scale technology infrastructure.The Human Capital Risk Program is responsible for risk management activities related to Human Capital Risk. This role is expected to engage with senior business and risk leaders across the frontline as well as other Risk Type Leaders and Enterprise Risk Programs to influence and challenge Human Capital risk management activities and decisions.Operational risk is the risk resulting from inadequate or failed internal controls and processes, people and systems, or resulting from external events. Operational risk is inherent in all Wells Fargo products and services as it often arises in the presence of other risk types. Human Capital Risk is a specific Risk Type of Operational Risk and is defined as Risks attributed to failures of human capital practices resulting in non-compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, high turnover, talent gaps, and insufficient staffing.The role will serve as the key point of contact for matters pertaining to the Human Capital Risk program. In this capacity, the role reviews and challenges significant Front Line Human Capital risk program execution, and partners to understand relevant industry issues, frameworks and the identification of emerging human capital risks.In this role, the qualified candidate will perform Human Capital Risk Management activities including - plan, identify and assess, control and mitigate, monitor and report on Human Capital Risk and perform independent Human Capital risk assessments of Business Groups and Enterprise Functions, inclusive of emerging risks and review and challenge of Human Capital risk acceptances.Specific responsibilities include:

  • Use subject matter expertise and industry knowledge to provide oversight and credible challenge to Human Capital risk management activities
  • Engage with Business Group and/or Enterprise Function Control teams, Independent Risk teams, and other impacted stakeholder to promote a strong Human Capital risk culture
  • Active engagement in key front line governance routines inclusive of strategic planning sessions, governance committees and business reviews
  • Identify and escalate to senior leadership conflicts with Human Capital risk management results and expected business outcomes
  • Identify opportunities and best practices to influence stronger risk management practices by the business for Human Capital RisksLocation: Preference is for selected candidate to work within one of the following Wells Fargo locations: Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Dallas, TX; San Antonio, TX; Atlanta, GA; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR

    Required Qualifications
    • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

        Other Desired Qualifications
        • Knowledge of human capital risk
        • Knowledge of enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
        • Knowledge and understanding of human resources operations and processes
        • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders and regulators

          Job Expectations
          • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
